Feel free to include your car set up (spring rates/dampers/tire pressures/etc.) in your post. Please include what tires you're running and your best guess on whp, please include a "?" if it's not dyno proven. Our events are usually located at Thunderhill Raceway Park, Sonoma Raceway, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and Buttonwillow Raceway. You guys post up your best lap times and I'll keep 'em organized here in the first post. Then I came up with the idea for starting this thread.

Probably has something to do with the gearing and power curve.Was reading Lightning Lap in Car and Driver this month and was wondering where a modified Nissan would fit in. Even with the higher cornering speeds the MRS can carry, my Z4M actually has a faster top speed at end of every straight at BW13. Last weekend for example, my laptimes at CVR got 2+ seconds slower by the afternoon sessions as temps climbed into 95F+.Įven though the MRS has plenty of whp on the dyno and better HP/Wt ratio than the Z4M, it does not translate to straight line acceleration for some reason. Maybe even as much as 3-5 seconds difference between winter and summer at BW13. Laptimes vary dramatically as well, depending on temperature. But it will heat soak and lose tons of power pretty quickly on the track during warmer days, like this past weekend at CVR when it was 95F+. My MRS is quick during cold days when temps are below 60F. I'd estimate it is now making around 220-230whp on a cold day. I have since installed a W/A intercooler and turned up the boost to around 9-10 psi, but did not get it retuned yet. It was making 210whp at 7-8 psi without a W/A intercooler on a cold day. The last time I had it on a dyno was early last year when I just had the turbo installed. Pretty cool you are comparing my MRS with one of the faster E46 M3's out there.
